Well, it's only been one week since the last blog- so I am doing well!
News for this week is that we are 2 weeks away from getting a new shipment of hoodies!! We are pretty proud of the efforts put in for these ones, a lot of love, time and effort went into these designs (thanks Matt and Dave). So I have attached some pics, so you can suss them out. Matt has designed a new logo for progression, which is pretty cool too. We hope to add that logo to any future merch. We are taking pre-orders, so call the shop if your keen!
Speaking of merch we are having a sale on the last lot of T-Shirts we had. We need to make way for new stuff coming through. So we have discounted to half price, so instead of $40 they are not $20- so come pick one up (these ones are limited edition):P
As for the tattoo side of things Matt did get started on a lower leg piece for Jack. The design includes two Asian Foo Dogs, a Shrine and a heap of Japanese flowers. Just a bit about the design, in case your interested... The Asian Foo Dogs (found throughout asian cultures) are also known as the "Lion of Budda". So although they are called "dogs" they are essentially lions. The local Shinto religion of Japan, which predates Buddhism, also has a lion protector, with a red head, who drives away evil spirits and brings health and wealth. No matter the origin though, be it Chinese or Japanese, Buddhist or Shinto, the definitive Foo Dog is fundamentally protective, strong, and courageous. It is for these reasons that many shrines and temples in Asia are guarded by Foo Dogs at their entrances. So there ya go, just in case you wanted to know a bit about the background behind the choice for the piece.
Amanda had a cool idea for her upper arm tattoo, a picture of Frank N. Furter from Rocky Horror Picture show. So after a marathon 5 hours Frank was finished (well done Amanda for sitting through that in one sitting).
And I think that's about it for now. Cheerio!!
Girls, girls, girls
Started on this sleeve with a couple of pin ups and should be doing some more work on it in a couple of weeks, so I'll post some more pictures then. Real good fun to do and can't wait to get some more done on it.
Also got to finish the Dragon Koi I started a few weeks ago, really happy with the way it finished up, and hopefully we'll be adding more to it some time not too far away. And a little pair of dice done from some flash that I thought looked pretty cool.

Konichiwa!
Konichiwa! Oh dear it has been a while since an update. One of these days I am gonna keep on top of this thing.
Well as your probably all aware we went to Japan. Was a very quick trip (just 10 days) but that was enough to let us know that we absolutely love the place!! What awesome people the Japanese are, we could learn a lot from their culture and way of doing things! Anyway, so we did not have much time to explore but as some of you know we went over to organise to get tattooed. Which I am happy to say is happening in November, we will go back over to Japan for 6 weeks. So this trip was a great way to ease our way in and find out where we will stay etc and also gave Matt an opportunity to go into a few tattoo shops to find work. So next holiday will hopefully be a working one, fingers crossed that Matt will get a job at one or two of the places he tried!
So when we got back we found that we had finally been published in the Tattoo Down Under (Tattoo Art) Magazine. So have a look if you get a chance. It has an article on the shop and interview with Matt. Which I must declare they changed around the wording ALOT- so kinda makes Matt sound a bit like a douche. Trust me, Matt would never say "contact us here at Progression tattoo and I'll lay some timeless work on you"- totally cringe worthy. But never mind it is still a good thing to be in there.
As for tattooing side of things Matt has started some new larger pieces of late. The pheonix back piece on our mate Michael is going well, they moved onto colour this week, so it's going along swimingly. The Koi Sleeve is actually Justins first tattoo (that's right, full sleeve- first tattoo!) and he did all outline and shading over 2 days (in 7 hours), what an absolute champ- well done!
So some new stuff too. Amy got her Dali portrait finished, looking good "gunt bags". Annika got a tattoo of a sexy lady on her calf and again we have a champion sitter here. She sat solid as a rock for 4 hours to finish her tattoo in one sitting!! Well done again! I must not forget to mention the MJ Fox- Back to the Future portrait Matt got to do on Nicole, Matt was most excited about getting to do this piece, so thanks Nicole!
Matt wants me to make sure I mention some albums he has been listening too, that's worth a try:
Howlin Wolf- best of
The National- High Violet
The Gaslight Anthem- American Slang
And that's all for now, Ciao!
